The requirements vary based on the country. However, some things are constant. A cover letter, a photograph, 3 months bank statement, Passport, Residency Permit, Flight Tickets, Accommodation Reservation, Travel Insurance, Enrolment letter from University etc.

The Schengen visa is a short stay visa and takes the form of a sticker affixed to the travel document.
The definition of “short stay” is a stay of "90 days in any 180 days period". This means that the total duration of stay is of maximum 90 days, in any period of 180 days.

This is not realistic. Schengen visas require 15-20 days for processing after the appointment date. An appointment can take a day to a few weeks to obtain depending on the location and demand at that time. Also, the calendar is often open 1-3 months ahead, this means if you start for example in January, the only appointments that could be visible could be for Feb, March or April in some cases depending on the country. There is always the possibility of earlier cancellations that can give you a sooner date, but its best to start early!
